Under the guidance of the immensely talented Chef Julien Royer, JAAN restaurant at level 70 of Swissotel has been ranked among the best restaurants in Asia.

It could have been the convenient and accessible location at Grand Hyatt Singapore. But one thing is for sure – mezza9, located at the mezzanine level of the hotel, is always packed with loyal customers who return time and again. The focus on the quality of food and service, coupled with the lively atmosphere in a trendy and contemporary interior, is a sure-win formula and precisely the reason why mezza9 is a gem.

Restaurant Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt is located on the second level of The Arts House, right above Timbre. It only serve a 5-course Carte Blanche Dinner menu which features the season’s freshest produce. The 5-course dinner is priced at S$78++, which is very reasonable as compared to other fine dining establishments. Do note that no ala carte menu is available.

The space is elegant and intimate, making it the perfect venue for a romantic dinner. Sit at the bar counter to watch chef Jonathan Koh (previously from Boathouse Restaurant) in action. On Friday and Saturday evenings, there are live classical and jazz performances.

PS Cafe has a legion of loyal supporters for a good reason. It is one of the few places in Singapore which has the complete package. It has a well-designed interior, excellent locations, and a well-thought menu which features simple and comfort food that always hits the spot.

It makes you feel cool just by dining there, and this is why it has continuously shines amid the strong competition in the local food scene. It has several branches in Singapore, but our favourites are Harding Road and Ann Siang Hill. The former is good for brunch on the weekend, while the latter is an incredibly sexy space where you can go for dinner and drinks after work.

Skirt at the swanky W Hotel at Sentosa Cove is a top-class steakhouse that is surprisingly affordable. The restaurant itself is elegant and stunning. It is classy, yet not pretentious; it gives off a cool and hip vibe. A meal at Skirt need not be expensive if you order wisely. Their signature 250g Skirt Steak is only $48, and other affordable cuts include a 250g Irish Grass-fed Sirloin ($35), and the 250g Cape Grim Australian Ribeye ($42). In conclusion: if you love steaks, you must make a trip to Skirt at W Hotel Singapore.

Sky on 57 at Marina Bay Sands Sky Park has one of the best views of Singapore, and under Justin Quek – one of Singapore’s favourite culinary son – the restaurant showcases his modern interpretation of Asian cuisine. One way to dine at Sky on 57 without breaking the bank is to go during lunch. Most of the signature JQ dishes from the ala carte menu are included in the set menu so it is good as you get to try out the restaurants best offerings on a “budget”.

Located at One Fullerton, The Pelican Seafood Bar & Grill has an inviting setting with plush sofa, and wall panels that are made of copper plates, and they look like pieces of glitters. Not to mention that it also has a great view overlooking the Marina Bay area. If you love seafood, this is a place to check out! On the menu, you can find an assortment of dishes, which include The Pelican Platter, The Daily Catch (prepared in different cooking methods like paper-wrapped, clam-baked, and roasted), as well as wood-fire grilled seafood and steak.

Housed in a beautifully restored old chapel, The White Rabbit is one of the most romantic restaurants in Singapore, and a place that I always recommend for a special date. The food is mainly classic European comfort food with familiar flavours, but the dishes are elevated to something special with the quality of ingredients.
